REDWOOD FARM CIVIC LEAGUE NEWSLETTER
May, 2002
Our neighborhood web site
is up and running and chock full of relevant information! Check it out at
www.RedwoodFarm.com and visit often as it is being continually updated and
enhanced. Your comments and suggestions are welcome. Many thanks to Corinne
Siegert at SOLUTRIX for designing, building and maintaining our site!
Attendance was fair at the last civic league meeting. We were briefed on the
proposed installation of 3 telecommunication poles at the Little Neck Swim and
Racquet Club. The consensus was favorably disposed as the Little Neck peninsula
is in dire need of cellular coverage. No definitive approvals (including the
Bishop’s Gate neighborhood) have been acquired yet. More details can be found on
our web site. Also discussed was a replacement entrance sign. A committee is
still researching proposals. Your treasurer reported a balance of $1,193.95.
The next civic league meeting will be held Tuesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. at the
Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. Our guest speaker will be a city
representative who will answer your questions about the sewer installation
commencing in November.
Bunco has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 28 – response has been great! RSVP
to Tess by the 24th, 463-6217.
Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters was unable to schedule us for a pick
up after the garage sale on the 18th; so Shelter Thrift (affiliated with the
Judeo-Christian Outreach Center) will be picking up your tax-deductible
donations instead.
Our neighborhood directory has been ready since December. If you have not
received your copy, please contact Peggy Witte, 340-3404.
It’s time again to collect annual dues of $25. Your dues help cover the cost of
this newsletter, the printing of the directory, social events (e.g., the
Halloween Parade and December’s Holiday Party), and will help us procure a much
desired sign. Directory additions and corrections will also be gleaned from the
attached dues remittal form.
