REDWOOD FARM CIVIC LEAGUE NEWSLETTER
April, 2002
Editor's Note: In an attempt to improve communication within our neighborhood, the Civic League, at its last meeting, proposed developing a newsletter. This is your newsletter and we will include information that may be both general and specific in nature. If you have special notices to be included, please contact me and I will gladly incorporate them as well. Your comments and feedback are important to make the newsletter a useful tool for staying in touch. DRM
MEETING NOTICE
The next Civic League
meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 7 p.m. at the Lynnhaven United
Methodist Church. We will have an invited guest speaker who will discuss issues
regarding the proposed installation of 3 cellular towers at the Little Neck Swim
& Racquet Club.
DID YOU KNOW?
The City of Virginia
Beach has scheduled the sanitary sewer line installation to begin around
November 1 (according to the city engineer). Installation will take 12-16 months
and will cost approximately $1,700 per household in hook-up fees. We will
invite a city representative to discuss the particulars at a special Civic
League meeting in the near future.
NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE
The Neighborhood Garage
Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Items that don't
sell may be donated to the Children's Hospital Thrift Shop by placing them at
the curb before 1:00 p.m. for pick-up.
CALLING ALL BONKO BABES!
Recently, the Virginian
Pilot published an interesting piece on Bonko -- one of the most popular
neighborhood games. It's great fun, no skill involved, and a wonderful way to
spend an evening with your neighbors. The first Ladies Bonko Game Night will be
held Tuesday, May 14, at Tess Bradlee's home. Please RSVP by Friday the 10th to
463-6217.
In closing...
The warm weather is here so it's time to catch up with your neighbors. There are
activities being planned for our neighborhood. Be on the lookout for notices.
Get well wishes to Peggy Witte and Linda Mendelsohn as they recover from their
recent episodes!
